George and Nikki Taylor welcome you to our website.
The Mosshall Red Aberdeen-Angus herd is based in the central belt of Scotland at Mosshall Farm, Blackburn, West Lothian.
Mosshall Farm has been in the Taylor family for over 90 years. It was ran solely as a dairy herd until 2008 when we diversified and began producing AAX and SimX females to start our suckler herd, the dairy herd was then fully dispersed in November 2012. The suckler herd currently consists of around 100 females who are put in-calf to an Aberdeen-Angus bull. The progeny are then sold as store cattle at around 400kg in weight.
In August 2011 we decided to establish a Pedigree Red Aberdeen-Angus herd to run alongside our suckler herd. The herd began with private purchases from various notable herds in the UK and overseas. We have also used AI and ET work to widen our genetic base.
We chose to breed Red Aberdeen-Angus due to their docility, easy calving and care, strong maternal nature, determined calves and excellent finishing traits. We particularly liked the Red Aberdeen-Angus due to their rare abundance.
We now have a few Red Angus bulls and heifers for sale at sensible prices.
